"Wishless"

This cake was made for the Thread Cakes contest going on right now. The contest is based off of the Threadless website where users can submit t-shirt designs of their own. The cake contest is to make a cake based off of a t shirt design on the threadless website. I made this cake based off of a t shirt design called "Wishless", that can be found here. It was a difficult cake to make, one of the weirdest shapes ever. I agonized over what to do about the fire and the wing and finally decided on spun sugar and piped chocolate. It was the first time i've ever spun sugar but it was FUN! The head and tail are made of rice krispies and most of the body is chocolate cake. The dragon, cake and hat are made out of marshmallow fondant.
